I’m a cat parent with two cats — Sami and Phoebe.
They’re both four years old.
One’s loud. One’s messy. I love them both.
This site is about them.
And about us.
The food we try. The toys that last (and the ones that don’t).
The cuddles, the chaos, and everything in between.
It all started in 2020.
The world shut down. My daughter moved out.
The house felt too quiet.
A friend said, “You need a cat.”
I said, “Maybe.”
Then I saw a Kijiji ad — two ginger kittens, four weeks old.
I went to “just look.”
I came home with one on my lap, no plan, and no litter box.
That was Sami.
He’s a Turkish Angora mix.
Playful. Messy. Full of opinions.
He made the house feel alive again.
Two years later, Phoebe joined us.
She’s a lilac point Siamese from Thailand.
Pointy face. Crossed eyes. Loud.
The first time I picked her up, she screamed at me.
I wasn’t sure what I’d just done.
Now she sleeps on my neck and follows me around the house.
Still yells at me sometimes.
She’s the sweetest cat I’ve ever met.
So now it’s the four of us:
A cat parent, a husband, and two very different cats.
Sometimes my daughter visits — and brings her bunny.
There’s always something going on.
